Russian law banning foreigners own large classifieds takes effect
MOSCOW, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- Only Russians without other citizenship or companies now can own online classifieds with a daily audience above 100,000 users, according to the law that came in force on Wednesday.
A company controlled by the country, its region, or a citizen also can own such a service. A controlling stake is over 50% of voting shares.
The service must also install a meter of its audience, integrate and cooperate with state services portal Gosuslugi.
The communications service will keep a register of classifieds working in the country and will monitor and request the necessary information from its owners.
